Updated

The short version: your battery readings stay on your Mac, and this website doesn’t track you.

The app

  • BatteryGuard reads battery and charger information from macOS: charge level, charging state, the adapter’s name and wattage, power readings, cycle count and maximum capacity.
  • It keeps its battery readings in a file on your Mac so it can draw your battery’s history. Nothing is sent anywhere.
  • It asks for permission to show notifications, so it can remind you at the levels you set. It needs no administrator password and doesn’t change how your Mac charges.

Updates

BatteryGuard doesn’t connect to the internet at all: no update check, no analytics, no crash reports. New versions are published on this site.

Purchases

BatteryGuard is sold through Paddle.com, our online reseller and Merchant of Record.

  • Paddle processes your payment and your personal details, such as your name, email address, card details and address or country, under Paddle’s privacy policy.
  • We receive and store only what’s needed to deliver your download: the Paddle transaction ID, the Paddle customer ID, the amount, the currency, the time of purchase and the number of times the download link has been used.
  • The payment form (Paddle.js, loaded from cdn.paddle.com and buy.paddle.com) loads only on the buy page, when you open it.

For questions about an order, go to paddle.net.

This website

  • No analytics, no tracking scripts and no ad pixels.
  • This site sets no cookies. The payment form on the buy page is run by Paddle under its own privacy policy.
  • No third-party scripts, fonts or embeds, except the Paddle payment form on the buy page. Everything on every other page is served from this site.
  • Like any web server, the server that hosts this site may keep standard request logs, such as IP address, browser and the page requested.
